Street Pastors
Newtown now has its own team of Street Pastors, who will be out looking after people between 10pm and 4am on Saturday nights.
Fully trained by specialists in a variety of fields, they will be out to look after people who become the worse for wear in our town centre.
Officially launched in September 2009, at a Ceremony attended by Councillors, our M.P. Lembit Opik; representatives from Dyfed-Powys Police, our Mayor Joy Jones, and other invited guests from our town.

It was hosted by Associate Pastor, Denise Curgenven, who is the Co-ordinator, and the Commissioning was carried out by Mark Thomas, from Bridgend Street Pastors.

Street Pastors is an International Organisation. For more details about where they are
and what they do, click on this link: STREET PASTORS.
